Radio Show...
This program continues on various series of different topics on theology such as end times, prophecies, daily living, etc. as the subject matter comes up.
The e-book on end times and Revelation, answering the questions “where are we in the events of the end times?” and “Are we now in the tribulation?” is available on this web site, which you can find throughout the pages.
Opening Narrative
So we continue from the last program on the current series of the level one study of the Book of Revelation, based on the e-book Timing Revelation available on my web site. So far we covered up to chapter 20, and we pick up today from here.
And again just a friendly reminder on the book of Revelation that no one can read, understand and interpret this book it completely from beginning to the end at this time. We learn more and more about the details of it and how every verse and chapter fit together as we move year by year toward the very end. We can only try and do our best, with the help of the Holy Spirit, to put the work together.
God knew this all along... but, in spite of our limits and short comings, we are directed by the Word of God to read this book. It is so important, we are told that we will get a blessing for our obedience to that.
"Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand."
So let's remember to always read this book with an open mind and patience.

Narrative #1
1.And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2.And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3.And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4.And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
So, Then John sees previews of what's to come next. There will be a new heaven and earth, and a new city. In the Greek, there are a few different words for “new” that mean specific things. In this case the word for “new” is “kainos” (kahee-nos) which means a new kind as opposed to the same kind but just newer or younger. The same word is used for the new Jerusalem, the new earth, and also “I make all things new” in verse 5.
There have been many prophecies given in the Old Testament about this coming new heaven and earth.
For example, Isaiah 51:6: “Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.”
Also, 2 Peter 3 verses 11 to 14: “Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
“Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
“Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwells righteousness. So it's not going to be like today, there will be righteousness throughout.
“Wherefore, beloved, seeing that you look for such things, be diligent that you may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless”.
So there is something to be looking forward to but in the meantime we have to live holy lives before a holy God.

Narrative 2
Alright let's continue with chapter 21,
Verses 5 to 8
It is done
5.And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said
unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
6.And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
7.He that overcomes shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
8.But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
God breaks in and confirms that in the end He will make all things new, and re-assures John that the words he was told to write are all true and faithful.
God also confirms the fate of the overcomers and unbelievers.
Verses 9 to 15
The New Jerusalem
9.And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come here, I will show you the bride,
the Lamb's wife.
10.And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
11.Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;
12.And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:
13.On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.
14.And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
15.And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.
So, here John is shown a preview of the great new city, holy Jerusalem descending from heaven, in all its glory. She is referr

Narrative 3
Alright let's get back to chapter 21...
Continuing on the description of the New Jerusalem...
Verses 16 to 22
16.And the city lies foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth
and the height of it are equal.
17.And he measured the wall thereof, a hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.
18. And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.
19.And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;
20.The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolyte; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.
21.And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
22.And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
Again self-explanatory...
According to the description here the city is a square block of between 1300 to 1500 miles. It is the size of a continent. The description of its wall and construction etc. is outlined in the next verses. It is beyond our imagination.
Note that there is no need for a temple anymore for God Almighty is the Temple.
Continuing at verse23 and on to v. 27, still in chapter 21...
23. And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
24.And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
25.And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
26.And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.
27.And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defiles, neither whatsoever works abomination, or makes a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.
So, notice here that the “nations which are saved” shall walk therein... that means in the end there will be some nations that will have been saved and some not.
Notice also that there shall nothing that defiles enter into the city. That means there still will be some vulnerability to sin out there in the millennium, but none of it will be able to get into the New Jerusalem... excep those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life. Wow.
Remember He will rule with a rod of iron, and in the very end, evil will again for that last time raise its ugly head. (Revelation 20:7-8)
(Music Interlude)
Narrative 4
Now let's move on into chapter 22
Verses 1 to 5
The water and the tree of life
1.And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
2.In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
3.And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:
4.And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.
5.And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God gives them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
So, Again the detailed descriptions are self-explanatory.
Notice about the tree of life in verse 2, which leaves are for the healing of the nations. Many people ask the question of why is healing required when we are told there will be no more sickness and death, etc.
The word “healing” in the Greek is “therapeia” which refers to rendering service to others – therapeutic, for well-being.
We are told that there are angels guarding the twelve gates to the new Jerusalem. We saw in chapter 21, verse 27 which says:
“And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defiles, neither whatsoever works abomination, or makes a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.”
This tells us that there will still be some around it who will be susceptible to the sinful nature, as we see in the end when the devil is let loose for the last time.
