Want to Share Timing Revelation

Opening Narrative

Well again this week we are seeing so much taking place, so much being added to the unfolding of the end times revelation, we can hardly keep up…

I mentioned an issue in the last program that there was no time to expound on, and said that it would be for another time… well the other time is now…

Lo and behold the Lord has brought up the issue during this week which I will pick up on today and which is about end time events taking place…

And, I will also be covering other topics in this service about the blessings and cursings from the book of Leviticus, and let the Lord wrap it all up into another exciting message of end times, prophecies, and current issues …

All that will begin right after this opening music and time of prayer…

(Let us pray...

Narrative #1

So let’s get into the word of God this morning…

First I want to share something that came across my desk last week which is so appropriate for these days… it comes from the Jewish weekly reading, and this one is from the last two chapters of the book of Leviticus…

After God presents his plan, throughout the book of Leviticus, on how his people are to approach him in a holy manner, with particular emphasis given to the priestly functions, God gives his blessings to the people for their obedience and his curses for their disobedience.

We read about the blessings in Leviticus 26, verses 3 to 1:

God says: “If ye walk in My statutes, and keep My commandments, and do them” (Leviticus 26:3).

So “if” is a condition – if they walk in God’s statues… there will be blessings, such as He will give them rain in due season, the land shall yield an increase, the trees will yield fruits, harvest will be abundant, there will be peace in the land… “ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid… (v. 6)…

“you shall chase your enemies and they shall fall before you… (v. 7)…
“and five of you shall chase a hundred, a hundred of you shall put 10,000 to flight… your enemies shall fall before you… (v.8)

Wow, apply that to us today… are there enemies around the world today? I should say so.

“I will have respect unto you and make you fruitful and multiply you and establish my covenant with you (v.9)

”and I will set my tabernacle among you and my soul shall not abhor you (v.11)… and I will walk among you and will be your God and ye shall be my people… (v.12)

and He says, : I am the Lord your God, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt that you should not be their bondmen; and I have broken the bands of your yoke, and made you go upright… (v.13)

Wow… you might say, well that was given to the Israelites way back in ancient times…

No, no…. this is for us today also… all of it… some terminology might change, but life is the same today… and remember “Egypt” is the symbol of the world to us today…

In other words God has saved us from the world that we were in before we came into His redemptive work…

“I am the Lord your God, which brought you forth out of the world that you should not be its bondmen; and I have broken the bands of your yoke with the world, and made you go upright…

so He took us out of the world into His Kingdom… (2nd Corinthians 6 verses 14-18).

Now, if there are blessings for keeping God’s commandments, there are penalties or curses for not keeping His commandments – we talked about that last week that the 10 commandments are just as relevant today as they were before:

So the curses are outlined in the next verses:

“But if you will not hearken (or hear) unto me, and will not do all these commandments… and if you shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgment (v. 14-15… (the word abhor means to loathe, to vilely cast away)… wow a lot of this is being done today around the world, and even right here in our own western nations…

And the Jewish teaching says that repeatedly, God says if the Children of Israel do not mend their ways after one set of curses, a harsher punishment will follow…

… no wonder we are in trouble and getting worse by the day….

The curses are laid out in a series, each progressively harsher.

Verse 16: “… I will appoint over you terror, sickness and fever, sorrow of heart, sowing your seed in vain which the enemies shall eat…

v.17, “I will set my face against you and you will be slain before your enemies… they that hate you shall reign over you… hmmmm… we’ve been seeing that exponentially recently… you shall flee when no-one is pursuing you…

v. 18, “and if you will not yet for all this hear me out, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins…

Wow, look at what's happening around the world right now: extreme whether, floods, tornadoes, hurricanes like we haven’t seen before, war and rumours of wars, threats from enemy nations… it’s all here…and yet we hear about the abortion issues getting more and more daring… and the enemies boycotting communities that are trying to “hearken to the commandments of the Lord”…

“If you don’t hearken, I will punish you 7 times more”… come on can’t we read… can’t we read, it’s perfectly clear… where are the preachers…

v. 19… “and I will break the pride of your power; and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as brass:… in other words the heaven will not produce rain and the earth fruit…

v.20… “and your strength shall be spent in vain; for your land shall not yield her increase, neither shall the trees of the land yield their fruits…

We’ve seen floods ruining the farmlands of America like never before which is now affecting the food prices like never experienced before and news report say it will get worse yet throughout the summer because of the ruins of the farm land…

yet we see more and more atrocities being thrown in God’s face as the evil many fight the righteous few…

And again, in v. 21 God shows the intensity getting worse as people still don’t hear His voice, His pleas… “and if you walk contrary unto me, and will not hearken unto me; I will bring seven times more plagues upon you according to your sins… wow …

And the warnings and threats go on increasingly …

v. 30, “and I will destroy your high places… v. 31, “and I will make your cities waste and bring your sanctuaries unto desolation, and I will not smell the savor of your sweet odors…

so it’s like what we see and hear around us, some curse God and amidst of it say, I pray for you”… well if we curse God and say we pray, God will not receive those prayers”…

and then God speaks of the way we treat the land and not follow His instruction to let it rest… how he will force it upon the people by scattering them to desolation…

But He will remember His covenant

and then toward the end of the chapter, from verse 42 to 46, God tells His people that if they turn from the wicked ways and truly repent, and accept their due punishment, He will remember His covenant with them and even though they will be taken into the captivity of their enemies God will not abhor them to destroy them utterly…

…but will for their sakes remember the covenant he made with their ancestors and will be their God …

and then the next chapter, chapter 27, God gives the laws concerning the dedication of the people to God….

So, yeah, it’s a hard reading… but it wouldn’t have to be if people obeyed God….

But we all know that unfortunately this has not been the case in the past and is not the case now… ever since the first parent in the garden of Eden… thank God for the Word of God that tells us what’s it’s all about…

But, people need to read and heed the Word of God to know this…

Narrative 2

So, yes reading of the punishment for our iniquities is a hard thing to do … but a lot of people need to hear it… those who think they can get away with sin or those who think that the Bible is just a fairy tale… need to hear the truth….

We all need to be reminded and that is done through the reading of the Word of God… whether it is pleasant or not….

However what is pleasant is that God is in control, God is gracious, and merciful and that if we turn to Him He will forgive our sins and He does take care of us, His people…

you think they would see what’s happening – those who don't believe….it is without doubt that the wrath of God is being displayed all around us today…

But God also tell us what blessings will come if we do repent…

Even through the time of the exile of the people of God, the land was allowed to regain all its lost Sabbatical years, which the people ignored leading up to the exile….

God reassured His people that he would not abandon them completely in the lands of their enemies, nor would He ever replace them. Eventually, when the land had had its rest, He did return them to their land. As the Israel Bible points out, they have witnessed such a return even in our generation.

And this is like what is going to happen to all people as we witness the events of the end times… up to the prophesied tribulation … and as we await His return when He will come to usher in the next millennium of peace and restoration…

And so turning to our time right now, some of the things that are happening with Israel and the Middle East, etc. is absolutely telling….

A recent report direct from Jerusalem, from Behold Israel, by Amir Tsafarti, a Major in the IDF reserve who has received Jesus as His personal Saviour, brings good news about a lot of things developing over there….

Amir reviews the amazing miracles that have been taking place in Israel… first with the recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel not that long ago, and the recent acknowledgement of the Golan Heights as an Israeli sovereign piece of land – I mean these are miracles of God… which has been a matter of debate going back centuries.

Even though the U.S. deal that will be offered to the Palestinians over the conflicts of the land of Israel may not be received – and probably will not be received by the party of the second part…

According to Amir from Behold Israel, Trump’s contributions have turned the tables around, eliminating the idea of the 2-state solutions for now, which is not being talked about lately, having given way to other conflicts as we know… there isn’t peace there yet…

As for the Palestinians, a lot of people don’t understand that they never did own that land … they say that Israel “is occupying the land” but that is not the case.

They claim they have a heritage but the whole thing has nothing to do with Arab or Muslims or anything else… these are various peoples who came from other countries like Syria, Lebanon, Iran, Algeria, etc., etc., many of these places under ancient names… in years gone by… they have nothing in common… except their Arabian background…and say they all came to a land called Palestine which was re-named by the Romans.

There are many stories and theories about the exact time. But the best way to find out as it is always is through the Word of God.

If you do a search for the word Palestinians, you will not find one word in the Bible…it is not mentioned... and if you do a search for the word “Palestine”, you will only find one mention. The original word is “pel-eh-sheth”… and that comes up in the Word of God 8 times…

which was translated as Palestina, Philstia, Philistines… and that original word “pel-eh-sheth” actually means ‘land of sojourners’ or ‘wanderers’… it was the territory on the west side of Canaan, and south shore of Syria.

It is first mentioned in Exodus 15:14 where the scriptures tell us that the people of that land would be afraid of the people of God coming out of the Exodus. And then in Psalms, Isaiah and Joel – it is mentioned also and not in any sustainable means.

The land was also referred to as Canaan -- so a search for this word reveals the following:

canaan = Kĕna`an -- ken•ah'•an = lowland (appears 94 x)
it is described as the northern part of the nation at the base of Lebanon
It comes from the word “kana” which means ‘to be humiliated or humbled’
The inhabitants were called ‘Canaanites’ -- taken from the son of Ham, Canaan.
In the Greek they were known as the Phonoenicians…

(and this is from the Gesenius' Hebrew-Chaldee Lexicon)
All this corroborates with the above information that we got out of Palestine.

Further description of the land/people is given:

1._the 4th son of Ham and the progenitor of the Phoenicians and of the various nations who peopled the seacoast of Palestine

2._ merchant, trader

3._the land west of the Jordan peopled by the descendants of Canaan and subsequently conquered by the Israelites under Joshua… so here it is, the land was re-conquered in around 1410 B.C. some 40 years after the Exodus of the 400-430 years enslavement in Egypt… and following the promise of God to Abraham in around 1921 b.c. prior to his going down to Egypt because of the famine in the land.

Now we’re going to look at Israel in contrast to this in the next segment…

Narrative #3

In contrast to the previous segment we saw on the ancient land of Israel, the word “Israel” appears 2,568 times...

And the original word “yis-ra-el” is given various transliterations, one of them being ‘prince of God’ and another “you have prevailed” and still in other writings, 'God rules', 'God fights' and ‘fighter of God”…

The first appearance is in Genesis 32:28 when God gave the name to Jacob in around 1739 B.C.

After that the name was passed on to Jacobs’s descendants… then it was the name of the nation until the spit of the Northern and Southern tribes took place following Solomon’s death around 930 B.C.…

It was then the name given to the Northern Kingdom, whereas the southern kingdom became known as Judah which appears first in 2nd Kings 25.22… which appears 814 times in the Bible, (164 x in the book of Jeremiah alone) and it is first mentioned in Genesis 29:35 … and which means, by the way – not Jew as most people think, but “praise” as the Lord meant it to mean.

And then “Yis-ra-al" became the name of the whole nation again after the return from exile some 500 years before Jesus was born.

So the conflict over Jerusalem and Israel began when the Jews started to return to the land of Israel, after Britain divided the land back in the early 1900. Before that nobody cared much about it.

Then in 1948, as prophesied in the Bible the Jews were able to come from all over the world into their own land -- that is what was given of it to them, according to man, not to God… God wants them to have it all from the Euphrates to the River of Egypt (Genesis 15:18).

But now, these days are over, according to Behold Israel… Jerusalem is now the capital, and embassies are moving back to the capital of Israel.

The question now is no longer whether Jerusalem is or is not… now, in these end times the question has moved to when will the Temple be built… that’s what we hear a lot about in these last days… other than the conflicts that are going on.

And for that, according to some of the watchers of prophecy, a great war has to happen and then Europe has to provide the Anti-Christ prophesied in the Bible, in order to introduce a fake peace that will allow the Jewish people to build the temple.

But, I’m not so sure about when the war that is so much spoken of right now among many of the believers -- that is the war of Gog and Magog -- if that is going to take place now or at a later time… do we need that war to usher in the anti-Christ?

Or will he come on the scene as a result of economic chaos… we'll keep listening, we’re going to examine these things over the next months…

In any event, when the time comes when Israel will think all is well, and this man of perdition walks into the Temple after 3-1/2 years of confirming the 7-year covenant with Israel, he will declare himself as God.

This is what Jesus referred to as the abomination of desolation (Mark 13:14) “But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains.” (Daniel 11, and Revelation 13)

And in 2nd Thessalonians chapter 2 verses 3 and 4:

3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.”

So it is then that the Jewish people will realize their big mistake of having received this anti-Christ as the promised Messiah and they will flee to the place prepared for them as predicted in the books of Matthew and Revelation… where God will take care of his people for 1260 days or 3-1/2 years (the last 3-1/2 years of the 7-year tribulation period… (Revelation 12:6).

Then we are told in Matthew 24 verses :29 to 31… “

29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

It is hard to imagine the magnitude of these events that are described by our Lord in the book of Matthew 24 but these things will happen as the Word of God prophesies….

And then God will bring this terribly dark time on the planet to a close and then Jesus will literally and visibly return to the earth with power and glory (Revelation 19:11-16)

In the meantime, right now, we need to keep our eyes on what is taking place in Syria, the North, Europe and what is going on in Israel and around Israel – God is not finished yet.

And again, all this that we read about is not for us to be scared, but it is for us to be prepared… and to be aware that there is a redemption coming, there is another world to look forward to…

Narrative #4

And of course there is so much more on the history of Israel… but the Lord recently led me to an old British Encyclopedia in my personal library that was published in the early 1900's… and that was so fascinating …

First, I had been looking for the land of Israel under the volume that covered the letter “I” and I was surprised that I could not find Israel in this impressive work by some of the best writers and researchers Britain has produced…

But then, lo and behold, I realized it held content up to the early 190o's … so Israel had not yet been reborn as a nation, in these last end times as prophesied by Jesus in Matthew 24…

So, without any delay I picked the volume of the encyclopedia, not under the “I” but under the “P” for Palestine, because it was still then so called -- as given upon by the Romans in the early centuries of the empire…

So it gave me great delight to be able to read from the perspective of up to the very time leading to the prelude to that great event of the birth of Israel…

And so there it was, “Palestine: The Holy Land” written by Basil Mathews, M.A., Author of “The Riddle of Nearer Asia”…

Followed by “Palestine: The British Conquest” by Robert Machray, British Writer on Foreign Affairs…

And so began a delightful history sketch of the Holy Land area from about 3300 BC right to the time when General Allenby entered Jerusalem on December 11, 1917…

And again I don’t have time in this program to get into this history sketch of Israel as it led up to its rebirth in 1948… I will be writing an article that I will share with my radio audience in future weeks… as we continue to dig into the marvels of the Word of God from Genesis to Revelation.

But let me say of this gem that I just discovered in the pages of this old encyclopedia that it all confirms the historical truths of the Word of God, again,  providing further details from another perspective.

And that’s what history is all about – His Story… God’s Story.

Yes the more we read and get to know the Word of God, the more we get to know Him … and His Story from Genesis to Revelation… it is all about Redemption… the Redemption of the world and the Redemption of each individual like you and me… one individual at a time. Amen.
