Opening Narrative
Hello and welcome to another exciting radio program today on end times and prophecies and scriptures to live by... which is all about old-time gospel and worship music, praying for needs and preaching the Word of God....
And remember this radio programs Virtual Church for the Spiritual Unchurched is broadcast every Sunday at 7 am and 7 pm pacific time... and if you unfortunately miss it for whatever reason at any time, you can hear the program any time after that for 4 weeks...at my web site TimingRevelation.com
So, we continue today in the new series started a few weeks ago, based on my book “The Horizontal Chronology of the Four Gospels”...
And I did mention to you before that with this series begins the start of the 8th year of these radio programs “Virtual Church for the Spiritual Unchurched.
As you already know In this series we look at the four gospels in a new light as they are presented by chronological events taking place within the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John which are presented separately in the Bible ...
It is all the same gospel.... but in chronological order of events taking place, which lets us hear or see side by side who reported and what each said on these events taking place in the gospels.
As you will recall if you were with us in the first couple of programs, there are 9 particular events that we are working through -– and if you miss any of the programs at any time, you can still hear them on my web site TimingRevelation.com where each one is available on replay for up to 4 weeks.
The 9 events we're looking at in this series are:
#1—Pre-human existence of Christ
#2 – Pre-natal to Jesus's Incarnation
#3-- Birth and Childhood of Christ
#4-- Beginning of Jesus' ministry
(and we will pick up here as mentioned last week,
with the last part of this event to do with the co-ministry of John the Baptist.
That will take us into the next event,
#5-- Galilean ministry of Jesus – interestingly where Jesus delivered His longest ministry in terms of time and events taking place...
This will leave the next events for the weeks to come:
#6-- Judean and Perean ministry of Jesus
#7-- Jesus' last week
m#8-- Jesus' last 6 hours
#9-- From the Resurrection to the Ascension
So I'll get into that right after the usual opening music, prayer and worship time...
Prayer
Praise God Doxology
Worship music
Narrative 1
Alright so let's pick up from where we left off last week, after the encounter with the Pharisee called Nicodemus who came to the Lord one night, when Jesus told him about the new birth, that one must be born-again ...
Verily, verily, Jesus told him – and is telling us today – I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God – and of course that is a man or a woman... every single human being must be born-again in order to see the kingdom of God...
and we covered that in details last week from the book of John, in chapter 3 and verses 1 to 21... this has got to be the most important scripture in the Word of God, I would say, for without this “born-again” spiritual birth, we cannot be saved-- saved from what you might say? Saved from our sins, which can only be achieved through the works of Jesus Christ the Saviour of the world...
And if you missed this one, you must go and listen to the replay on my web site “TimingRevelation.com” -- it is as I said last week, truly a matter of life and death... that message is...
John chapter 3, verses 22 to 36...
So, now we will continue from the book of John where we left off last week at verse 21.
We are now still in Judea, and it is in the second week of Jesus' beginning of His ministry.
Let's pick up at verse 22, to read about the co-ministry with John the Baptist...
It says, “
22 After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judaea; and there he tarried with them (or remained with them), and baptized.
23 And John also was baptizing in Aenon (i-noan) near to Salim (salime), because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized.
24 For John was not yet cast into prison.
So John the Baptist was still preaching repentance and was baptizing people.
Then we are told that there was an issue that came up...
verse 25 “Then there arose a question between some of John's disciples and the Jews about purifying.
26 And they came unto John, and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to him.
27 John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.
28 Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him.
29 He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.
What wise and humble words from John the Baptist.
I pencilled a note in the margin of my book next to this... it reads:
"What a testimony and illustration of knowing your place in God's will."
John continues:
30 He must increase, but I must decrease.
31 He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.
32 And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony.
In other words John speaks of Christ's testimony of the spiritual things He has seen and heard and brought to the people, who are rejecting Him for it.
33 He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.
In other words he who has received his (Christ) testimony has set a stamp of approval that God is true.
34 For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.
Again in other words he whom God has sent (Christ, the Son) speaks the truth because God gives Him the fullness of the Spirit, not just a measure of it.
35 The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.
(Wow. Self-explanatory).
36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
So we can see the depth of prophecy understanding that John the Baptist had. What a testimony he gives of the Christ. It is the last one he would give of Christ and a powerful one at that, re-emphasizing that he who believes on Him has everlasting life, and he that does not believe shall not see life – in other words shall not be saved.
Alright, so this completes our #4 event, Beginning of Jesus Ministry.

Narrative #2
Alright, so this completes our #4 event, Beginning of Jesus Ministry.
We are now moving into our event #5, the “Galilean ministry of Jesus” –
Interestingly this is Jesus' longest ministry narration in terms of time and events taking place...
It takes most of the gospel accounts of the life of Jesus as reported in the New Testament under the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
Here Jesus ministers throughout Galilee.
We are still in Spring of A.D. 27, in Jesus' 2nd week...
Chronologically, this part of Jesus ministry begins with Matthew's report in chapter 4 and verse 12, where we read:
“Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, he departed into Galilee.”
So from Matthew we learn here that now Jesus heard that John was cast into prison.
Remember in our last coverage of John the Baptist co-ministry in Judea, in verse 24 of chapter 3, we are told at that early stage, that John was not yet cast into prison.
But by the end of that segment of John's gospel, now John the Baptist is cast into prison. This means that his time was nearing the end of John the Baptist ministry and purpose to be the one who came before the awaited Son of God...
Next, we have John's report that continues what is taking place at this time:
John chapter 4, verses 1 to 4:
“When therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John,
2 (Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples, did)
v. 3 He left Judaea, and departed again into Galilee.
4 And he must needs go through Samaria.
Now, a lot of people question this verse as to the “must need” to go through Samaria. And there's been many versions of interpretation... but the word in the original text (die, d-i-e) is used some 105 times in the New Testament.
What I find most interesting and helpful is where that same word is used in the scripture in Matthew 24:6, where it says: “And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must (die) same word, come to pass, but the end is not yet.”
In other words, it is a divine appointed that must take place. In this case, it was a divine appointment for Jesus to meet this Samaritan woman, to teach again about the born-again message of God's grace and mercy.
It has always been interesting to me that Jesus (God in the flesh) first big Good News of Salvation was first given to a Jew – a top religious Jew to book -- and then right after leaving Judea, on his way to Galilee, He brings the same Salvation teaching to a woman. Amazing.
And I just noticed recently the comment of this very thought, in the “Liberty Commentary Bible” which I share with you here:
It says, ”Note the contrast between chapter 3 and chapter 4. In the former, Christ deals with a man; in the latter, He deals with a woman. In the former, He deals with a Jew; in the latter, a Samaritan. In the former, he deals with a moral person; in the latter, an immoral person. Yet, He saves both.” Wow. What a teaching right here in these scriptures.
Let's read on...
verse 5, “Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, (soo-khar) near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.
6 Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour. (that would be about 12 noon).
7 There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.
8 (For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)
9 Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.
Now this is, again, so amazing that God's word puts this details of mankind along the way of Jesus' visit to earth, as part of it... the woman was amazed at the request—or even the spoken word to her by a Jew. Because since Israel had fallen, the Jews who were left in that land called Samaria had intermarried with the pagans of the area. This “foreign” breed had created great animocity between the Samaritans and the “purebred” Jews.
Again, a spiritual reconciliational desire of God the Creator fo the plan of Salvation for all mankind.
10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
It always fascinate me how Jesus responds with exactly the intentional direction of the discussion He wants to engage in.
v. 11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?
12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?
13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
Wow, that's pretty deep... but the woman no doubt had spiritual understanding on her mind because she had already brought into the conversation their religious historic “father Jacob”.
15 The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.
Again, she was on the same spiritual track. No doubt this was, as we would say today, a God made moment.
And of course we always have to recognize that what we read in the gospels, is condensed from the full and longer version of the original conversations that would have taken place. We are given only the critical words necessary for the thought being conveyed.
v. 16 Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.
17 The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:
18 For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.
Wow... see God knows everything...
v. 19 The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.
20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.
21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.
22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
We see here a great spiritual revelation of God the Father to this woman...
...and to us today.

Narrative #3
continuing on the conversation between the woman at the well and Jesus...
Verse 25,
The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias (messias, G3323) cometh, which is called Christ (or the anointed One) (G5547): when he is come, he will tell us all things.
So, the people of the time of Jesus' ministry on earth were already familiar with these words “Messiah” and “Christ” which meaning was “the anointed One” and which they were awaiting.
This woman obviously knew her background religious teachings.
So,
v.26, Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.
Wow what a bomb that must have been!
And at that very critical/vital moment the boys got back from shopping...
verse 27,
And upon this came his disciples, and marvelled that he talked with the woman: yet no man said, What seekest thou? or, Why talkest thou with her?
And that's the King James version...
28 The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men,
29 Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?
Here's that word again “the anointed one” (which meant the Messiah)...
30 Then they went out of the city, and came unto him.
Now the scene turns to the spiritual teaching of the disciples:
Watch this,
v. 31_”In the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat.
32 But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of.
See, again, Jesus turns human conversations in spiritual...
33 Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat?
34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.
35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
In other words it was time, it is time always to preach the word of salvation to mankind
36 And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.
37 And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.
38 I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.
The New King James puts it this way:
“ I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labors.”
39 And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did.
40 So when the Samaritans were come unto him, they besought him that he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days.
41 And many more believed because of his own word;
42 And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.
Again, Wow! What a thrilling story...
And here's an important note to the end of this spiritual magnificent encounter:
It is important to note that Jesus told of the need for the spiritual birth at the very beginning of his ministry, during the very first few days of his three-year work.
The spiritual birth is the key essence of the gospel of jesus Christ. It's the bed onto which the gospel lies. He tells it to a top religious/political person (Nicodemus) and a lowly peasant (Samaritan woman) despised by the Jews. It is a message for all from the top leaders of mankind's echelon to the perceived most lowly rank of the human race.
Then Jesus goes on to explain the details of this spiritual dimension and to prove his saying, by preaching, teaching, healing and doing miracles throught the land of the following thirty-six months

Narrative #4
So next we read from Mark, Luke and John, that Jesus left there to go to Galilee...
...let's look at that:
Mark 1, verses 14-15 --
14 Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,
15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel
So He is really picking up the repentance message of John the Baptist, or carrying it on even further and deeper
Luke 4:14, 15 --
14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.
15 And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.
John 4:43-45 --
43 Now after two days he departed thence, and went into Galilee.
44 For Jesus himself testified, that a prophet hath no honour in his own country.
45 Then when he was come into Galilee, the Galilaeans received him, having seen all the things that he did at Jerusalem at the feast: for they also went unto the feast.
And it looks like, on his way Jesus stopped again into Cana, where we read that he healed the nobleman's son:
John 4:46-54 --
46 So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum.
So here we can guess that it would be a couple of weeks after that miracle in Cana.
47 When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death.
Now this is very interesting...
48 Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.
49 The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die.
50 Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.
51 And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, Thy son liveth.
52 Then enquired he of them the hour when he began to amend. And they said unto him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.
So this was the next day.....
53 So the father knew that it was at the same hour, in the which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth: and himself believed, and his whole house.
Wow how wonderful, how amazing.....
54 This is again the second miracle that Jesus did, when he was come out of Judaea into Galilee.
And so that was the second miracle after the Cana wedding miracle of wine, He healed this nobleman's son....
And so again we're out of time... we will pick up from here next week and see how things will be getting really busy and awesome for Jesus, beginning with the famous story of where he went to the synagogue in His town of Nazareth, and was given the book of the prophet Isaiah to read and confirm the anointing of the Spirit of the Lord upon Him and His ministry.... this is exactly where that special day took place, right here at the very beginning of His ministry as He returned home where He had been brought up....
